Trekker Tent 4, Four-Person Trekking Pole Tent

This 4 person trekking pole tent is perfect for the family or small group who don’t mind sharing a tent.  It will fit 4 with just a little room to spare for gear.  This tent uses special trekking poles, so if you buy it without poles you will have to use a long stick over 6 feet tall or a low hanging tree branch (instructions come with the tent).

  • Trekking poles are included only if selected above – this tent will not work with normal trekking poles, so if you buy this tent you will have to set up using a tree or branch if you choose not to buy our trekking poles.  If order our trekking poles with this tent we will send you our specially made trekking poles, which hook up end to end.
  • 4 person trekking pole tent, at just 5 lbs this tent has the lightest per person weight of any backpacking tent on the market.
  • This tent uses 3 trekking poles, 2 in front and 1 in back. The 2 in front are specially made so that the handle comes off and they can be connected together making one long pole. Without our poles you will need to use a stick or a tree to set this tent up.
  • This Tent can be purchased with or without the front trekking poles, a 3rd trekking pole or stick is needed to support the rear of the tent.
  • At over 6 feet peak hieght you will be the envy of the camp as you walk instead of crawl out of your new backpacking tent.
  • This Tent includes 11 ultralight red aluminum stakes and all needed guylines, and an extra 25 ft guyline kit. Guylines are not connected so the first setup will take longer.

This 5 lbs tent is one of the lightest 4 person tents on the market, and likely the only 4 person backpacking tent on the market. Fits 4 with a little room to spare. 6 foot 1 inch peak height so you can walk in without crawling. Compact so it can fit in your backpack or bug out bag. Comes with 11 ultra light aluminum stakes and carrying bag. This tent is intended for use with our trekking poles plus one, it takes 3 trekking poles total. If you buy it without our trekking poles it will work using a tree or a long stick or branch or a low hanging branch. Branch or tree would need to be 6 ft 2 inches or taller. Total weight is 5 lbs including stakes and carrying bag, but not including Trekking Poles.

Important Note: Our trekking poles are made so that two trekking poles can be put together making one long pole, Most trekking poles on the market will not work with this tent. If you purchase this tent without our trekking poles you will have to use a long stick or a tree to set this tent up, it also needs a third trekking pole or stick for the rear of the tent.

This is the perfect tent for a family or begging backpacker with friends. This tent is super light but huge when set up. Its great for my family so we don’t have to carry two tents while hiking it would also be great to take with your friends that don’t have thier own gear yet. This thing is lighter than many 2 person tents so you don’t need to carry extra weight, but it’s big and veratile enough for easily 4 adults with gear. Hiking with kids can be challenging when considering accomodations. This tent is the perfect solution. It’s a full size camp tent that packs smaller and lighter than most two person tents. I’m able to bring my family with 0 added weight or size of the tent, and we don’t have to decide who shares a tent with mom or dad.

The weather finally broke and we just set this tent up outside. It’s massive! I created a fabric and Velcro holder to attach 2 poles together so we could use our trekking poles and it worked great. I tested the fabric for waterproofness by running the stuff sack under heavy water for a good ten minutes (same fabric as the tent) and I believe the tent will be waterproof. I did find pin holes in the corners that will need sealed prior to actual use and a pinhole in the tent wall. The floors and the seams have been sealed so I’m not sure why the corners have little holes. These holes are why I gave it 4 stars. The weight, size, and price are 5 stars!

Just got this thing set up for the first time.
    -Setup is super easy.
-This tent is HUGE for the weight. Great for backpacking.
    -Feels sturdy and well made.
-Only light rain so far, but no moisture made it in.
-It was pretty windy when I set it up, and I did it alone with no issues.
-My only complaint would be no windows, but then it wouldn’t be a super light single walled tent.

I bought this tent for my wife and me and our dog to use on canoe camping trips. I like the idea of being able to use the tent without poles by utilizing either trees on site or some dead wood that I cut. It’s a fabulous design and will work wonderfully for us.

The tent arrived in less than a week of placing the order! I immediately set it up out in our woodlot. Upon close inspection, I found a small hole in one of the upper panels. I contacted River Country Products customer service and they responded within a day and made it right.

The tent packs away neatly and easily into the included stuff sack. The stowed tent might be a bit heavy and bulky for hiking, but for canoe camping, it’s a very appropriate size.

I have used the 4 person tent three times now during a rainy spring in central oregon. A lot of rain but the tent (with a rainfly) was waterproof. Standing up beefore exit was a nice touch, I could put on raingear w/o. getting wet. When I camp alone I sleep on a queen size air mattress, 16 inches high, very comfortable. I am 71 y.o. and was considering no more camping but that mattress has made me rexonsider. Thank you, River Country.

Just received and set up last week. Tent seems well constructed and is very spacious for the weight. More photos or a youtube link in assembly instructions would be helpful for ideal guy line placement. Biggest concern is on stakes. The head of one snapped off at first install, and another bent easier than expected. Will likely bring old standard tent stakes for 1st trip out, which kinda defeats the purpose of buying a lightweight tent.

This is a great tent! Easy to set up , doesn’t with much, and it fits my family of 2 boys (6 &9) wide, and medium sized dog. I did have an issue with the trekking poles, but it was resolved immediately with a replacement sent to me. Great product and gray company. I will be purchasing additional products because of this experience.
