I recently purchased this item and tried it out. To get the pillow to inflate fully, I had to manually blow into it & close it off. I left alone for about 20 minutes or so before attempting to inflate the sleeping pad. I had to hold the inside flap open in order to reinflate the pillow after each time that I compressed it to blow up the pad. I had watched the video online and it appeared that the pillow would self-inflate a bit after compression, but mine didn’t. This isn’t a deal-breaker, just not what I was expecting. The sleeping pad is extremely comfortable on my back and on my side. I was pleasantly surprised at how supportive the pad is.

Bought this pad because I’m a side sleeper and I hoped it would be more comfortable than the one that comes with the sleeping bag combo
I absolutely love this pad. It’s not insulated but for summer and early fall camping it’s perfect. It stays inflated all night, is crazy lightweight and honestly I love the silver-white color. Using the pillow to inflate is very easy.
Big fan of this pad and RCP in general.

Nice pad! This is similar to the popular Thermarest NeoAir, but keep in mind that it is NOT, like the NeoAir, insulated. You’ll want to add an insulating layer if the weather’s cool. For summer camping you’ll be okay.
Pump pillow works well; follow the video instructions and make sure to put the pillow valve UP and the pump extension under the pad. And yes, let the pillow decompress for a few minutes while you set up elsewhere.

I tested it out as soon as it came and found it insanely comfortable. I didn’t fill it up all the way so it was super firm. This way it forms to my body better. I weight 220lb and am 6’1”. I am typically a belly and side sleeper. However, I found that back, side, and belly positions were very comfortable.

I want to start by saying that my wife and I enjoy the products we have purchased from River Country products, and we have purchased a few. Disappointed that product had made in China tag; thought it was made in Washington. Very comfy pad, but was noisy. Wish the pad fit the length of the sleeping bag, it kept sliding out of the pockets. Have not tried on the trail yet. We purchased this with the sleeping bag. I will leave a separate review with that product.
