This pancho has to be one of the best values in backpacking gear! Covers my 5’9′, 150 lb. body really well with coverage down to just above my wrists and ankles. All the seams are fully tape-sealed, and the corner tie-outs look well sewn in. The back is an inch or two longer than the front for added pack coverage, and there are two velcro closures on each side of the pancho. Nice stuff sack! Easy to get the pancho back in. I was looking at a mil-spec pancho with grommets and snaps, but I decided my needs could be met with this one and its four corner tie-outs. I saved a lot of money and some weight by buying this one. Shipping was incredibly fast, especially over the Holidays. These folks know how to do it right!

Just received my poncho and it’s exactly as described, haven’t had a chance to weather test it yet but it’s small, light and seems like it will do the job. I like the idea that it’s multi functional. Using it as a tarp attached to any of my RC tents will make foul weather easier to handle. I’ll update this review after I get a chance to test it in the rain.

I have two of these you will not find a better poncho for the money anywhere. I use one for my rain fly on my 1A tent and other is dedicated rain poncho very happy with my ponchos

This is a great rain poncho/tarp. Perfect size. I’m 6’2” and it covers me and my pack well. Can double as a tarp shelter for cowboy camping.

Everything that I hoped it would be, nice tarp, nice poncho, nice shelter, and a nice price LOL, using Velcro instead of snaps in my opinion is better because there is nothing to break. Nice quality from River Country Products as always 🙂

This is a roomy poncho. It covers my 5’ 11” – 200 lb frame down to the top of my mid-hiker boots and covers my outstretched arms out to my wrists. Haven’t tried it as a shelter, but kept me dry when worn in a downpour. The Velcro side closures work well at keeping the wind and rain out. It easily re-packs into its storage bag, which can then be folded over once and fit into an ALICE personal first aid kit pouch (the kind with the lift-a-dot snaps).

I bought this as a spare to my US Army poncho I have had for years. You really can’t compare a 40-50 dollar poncho to this one. For 10 bucks you really can’t go wrong, good quality, great price, very light weight and totally functional. Great buy.
I got one of these Poncho Tarps to lighten my base weight while hiking. It is my rain protection and part of my shelter system. It seems to work great as a poncho and it sets up well as a tarp. Here is a link to my video review on the Poncho Tarp, please take a min to watch it. Thanks. https://youtu.be/OFHLt3YEvPI
